## Your Responsibilities

- Design and build a thermal test rig (e.g. industrial rack or laptop mockup)
- Collect data using sensors, flow meters, and power tools
- Run CFD simulations (Ansys Fluent/CFX, COMSOL)

- Document results and suggest integration strategies

## Your Profile

## Aufgaben  
- Leitung der mechanischen Entwicklung, vom Prototyp bis zur Serienreife  
- Umsetzung biologischer Anforderungen (z. B. Perfusion, Scherkräfte) in mechanische Designs  
- Auswahl geeigneter, lebensmitteltauglicher Materialien  
- Enge Zusammenarbeit mit interdisziplinären Teams und Partnerfirmen  
- Unterstützung der Skalierung durch Design- und Finanzanalysen  
- Dokumentation für regulatorische Prüfungen (GMP, Food-Grade)  

## Profil  
- MSc in Maschinenbau, Biomechanik, Mechatronik oder vergleichbar  
- 3+ Jahre Erfahrung in mechanischer Entwicklung (Startups oder F&E von Vorteil)  
- Kenntnisse in Bioreaktoren, Laborautomation oder Medizintechnik  
- Versiert in CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360), FEA, Fluiddynamik  
- Lösungsorientiert, kommunikativ, teamfähig

# Mechanical Engineer – Cultivated Meat Bioreactor Development

Sallea is building next-generation edible scaffolds for whole-cut cultivated meat and fish. We are looking for an experienced, driven **Mechanical Engineer** to lead the mechanical development of our first-of-its-kind bioreactor system.

ETH Zürich Hönggerberg (Hybrid options available)

## Start Date  
August 2025

## Duration  
Full-time, permanent

## Responsibilities  
- Lead mechanical development, prototyping, and testing of a novel bioreactor  
- Translate biological needs into mechanical parameters (e.g. oxygenation, shear stress)  
- Ensure food-grade and biocompatible design and materials  
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners  
- Support scalability through design and financial analyses  
- Maintain detailed documentation for regulatory compliance  

## Requirements  
- MSc in Mechanical, Biomechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar  
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical development (ideally in startups or R&D-heavy roles)  
- Experience with bioreactors, lab automation, or medical devices  
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360), FEA, and familiarity with fluid dynamics  
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
