An alle jassfreudigen Menschen: Wir suchen Dich für das grosse Jassturnier des AMIV! Hotdogs, Bier und sonstige Getränke sind natürlich inklusive. Falls ihr euch schon immer in einem geselligeren Turnier mit anderen messen wolltet, ist dies genau die richtige Gelegenheit – egal, ob Anfänger oder Profi! Meldet euch als Zweiergruppe an und gewinnt einen der tollen Preise! Wichtig: Pro Gruppe muss sich nur eine Person anmelden! Es wird mit Deutschschweizer Karten gespielt. Das Jassturnier findet im ETZ Foyer statt.

Helfe jetzt beim Schülerinnentag 2025 mit!! Am Freitag, 28. November 2025, nehmen 80 Schülerinnen* am LIMES Schülerinnen*tag teil. Professor*innen, Studentinnen* und Alumnae teilen ihren Werdegang und ihre Faszination für ihr Tätigkeitsgebiet. In den Lab-Führungen am Nachmittag erhalten die Schülerinnen* Einblicke in die Forschungsarbeit in den Bereichen Elektrotechnik und Maschinenbau und in den anschliessenden Gesprächsrunden, haben die Schülerinnen* die Gelegenheit ihre Fragen zu stellen. Unser Ziel ist es, den Schülerinnen* die Vielfalt der Elektrotechnik und des Maschinenbaus aufzuzeigen und sie zu bestärken einen Weg in die MINT-Wissenschaften einzuschlagen.
Der Schülerinnen*tag findet in deutsch statt. 
Dazu sind wir auf helfende Hände angewiesen.

Help now at the Girls' Day 2025!! On Friday, November 28, 2025, 80 female high school students will take part in the LIMES Students' Day. Professors, students and alumnae share their careers and their fascination for their field. In the lab tours in the afternoon, the students gain insights into the research work in the fields of electrical and mechanical engineering, and in the subsequent discussion rounds, the students have the opportunity to ask their questions. Our goal is to show the students the diversity of electrical engineering and mechanical engineering and to encourage them to take a path into the STEM sciences. The event will be held in German. To do this, we depend on helping hands.

At Student Meets Lab the different groups of the D-ITET will present their research and project opportunities. Come by and talk to the labs where you would like to write your Bachelor or Master Thesis or your next semester project.

Lust auf etwas Süßes und einer Auszeit vom Lernen. Dann kommt im AMIV Büro vorbei und hole dir gratis einen Donut ab! Einen Teller oder was zum Transportieren muss du selbst mitbringen, wir stellen nur die Donuts. Es hat solange es hat und wenn die Donuts weg sind, sind wir es auch.

* Je nach Tagesverfassung gibt es vielleicht keine Donuts sondern ein anderes Gebäck. auf jeden Fall was zu Essen.

Craving something sweet and a break from studying? Then stop by the AMIV office and grab a free donut! You just need to bring your own plate or something to carry it in. We only provide the donuts. While supplies last: once the donuts are gone, so are we.

Depending on the day, there might not be donuts but another type of pastry. Either way, there’ll be something to snack on.

Bist du neugierig, welche Forschungsarbeiten an der ETH durchgeführt werden? Oder fragst du dich, in welchen Bereichen du eine Abschlussarbeit schreiben könntest?
Wenn ja, laden wir dich herzlich zu unserer Labortour ein. Freue dich auf eine Einführung in das jeweilige Fachgebiet, eine spannende Führung und faszinierende Vorführungen in einem von fünf renommierten Labs deiner Wahl! Dabei hast du die Möglichkeit, all deine brennenden Fragen zu stellen. Anschliessend findet ein gemütlicher LIMES-Apéro statt, bei dem du dich mit den Forscher:innen aller teilnehmenden Labore und natürlich auch mit deinen Mitstudierenden austauschen kannst. 

Eines der folgenden Labore kann besucht werden:
14:00 - 16:00: Robotic Systems Lab oder Soft Robotics Lab oder Micro- and Nanosystems Group
16:00 - 18:00: Advanced Mechatronic Systems Group oder Power Systems + High Voltage Lab

If that’s the case, LIMES invites you to join our lab tour event, taking you through cutting-edge research in one out of five renowned labs at ETH! Enjoy an introduction to the respective field, an exciting tour and some fascinating demonstrations at the lab of your choice! Afterwards, you will have the chance to ask all your burning questions. Following the tours, there will be a lovely LIMES Apéro where you can connect with the researchers from all participating labs and of course your fellow students!

The one of the following labs can be visited:
14:00 - 16:00: Robotic Systems Lab or Soft Robotics Lab or Micro- and Nanosystems Group

AMIV Goes Christmas

WiNS, CSNOW, LIMES and ETH Diversity organize an evidence-based allyship training for men aiming to support women and non-binary people and actively advocate for gender equity at work.

Eugenia Bajet Mestre and Professor Jamie Gloor (University St. Gallen) have already given several male allyship workshops at the University of St Gallen and ETH Zurich. Since it has been so popular at ETH, another workshop is offered.

This interactive workshop will help you:
- Understand key Diversity & Inclusion facts and figures
- Recognize and address (often subtle) biases
- Navigate fears and responsibilities around allyship
- Practice real-world strategies to foster change
The training includes an education part, group discussions, and practical activities. Overall, we aim to foster a safer space for reflection and discussion.

The training is free.

What did you do for AMIV?

Es neigt sich wieder einmal ein Semester dem Ende zu, das heisst, es ist wieder Zeit für einen sehr traditionellen Satz: Ohne euch wäre der amıv nicht der amıv! Als kleines Dankeschön laden wir euch natürlich wieder ganz herzlich zum Helfendenessen ein. Hast du ein OK übernommen, bist du Komissions-PQ oder hast sonst auf irgendeine Art mitgeholfen? Dann melde dich hier an! Wenn der Andrang zu gross ist, kann es sein, dass wir auswählen müssen, wer am Essen teilnehmen kann oder nicht, weil wir dieses Jahr mal wieder sehr viele Helfer hatten. Teilt uns bei der Anmeldung also gerne mit, was ihr alles gemacht habt <3.

Once again the semester is coming to an end, which means it's time for a very traditional sentence: Without you, the amıv wouldn't be the amıv! As a small thank you we would like to invite you to the volunteers' dinner. Have you been part of an OC, are you a committee PQ or have you helped in any other way? Then register here!
